Fill and Sign is DocuVault's browser PDF editor. It lets you complete forms, place annotations, apply a signature or initials, and save the result directly back to DocuVault without sending the file through a separate editing service.

Fill forms and place annotations

Open a PDF from DocuVault in Fill and Sign. Existing AcroForm fields can be completed in the browser. You can also place text, checkmarks and dates directly on a page when the document does not provide the field you need.

Typography controls let you adjust the appearance of annotations. Use them to keep inserted text readable and appropriately sized for the space available. Multi-page navigation lets you move through longer documents while keeping the editing workflow in one view.

Add a signature and initials

A signature or initials can be created in three ways:

• Draw it directly.
• Type it using the available script fonts.
• Upload an existing image.

Saved signature profiles retain a preferred signature and initials for later use. Review their placement and scale on every document before exporting, especially when pages use different dimensions or orientations.

Fill and Sign applies your own signature to a PDF you are editing. When you need to collect signatures from other people with consent, recipient verification and an audit trail, use Agreements instead. That workflow is described in the Agreements guide.

Replace visible text honestly

Edit Text covers the existing content and places replacement text over it. It does not claim to reconstruct or rewrite the source PDF text. This makes the result visually clear while keeping the behavior honest about how PDFs are structured.

Use the tool when a visible correction is appropriate, then inspect the page at normal reading size. Typography controls help the replacement fit the surrounding document.

Export with integrity information

An edited PDF is saved as a versioned export. The export includes a SHA-256 integrity manifest, giving the version a cryptographic record that can be used to identify the exact output.

Editing preserves digital signatures that were already present in the document. This means the editor does not discard those signatures while adding the new version, though any interpretation of an existing signature should still be based on the document and signature validation available to the reader.

The finished export saves directly back to DocuVault. Its version remains with the file rather than requiring a manual download and re-upload. My Drive versions and permissions are covered in the My Drive and sharing guide.
