Spaces and collections

Harmony organizes everything on two levels: spaces hold collections, and collections hold links and notes. Once this model clicks, the rest of Harmony falls into place.

The dashboard

The dashboard lays your library out in three columns, and the columns are resizable, so you can give the most room to whatever you are focused on. Open it any time with Ctrl+Shift+H from the extension, or by visiting the web app.

Spaces

A space is a project-sized container. Create one per project, per client, or per area of your life, whatever slicing matches how you think. Spaces live in two areas:

  • The Personal area holds spaces that belong to you alone.
  • The Team area holds spaces you work in together with your team. See Sharing and teams for how access works.

You can reorder spaces by dragging them, so the projects you touch daily sit at the top.

Collections

Inside a space, collections group related links: one for research, one for tools, one for things to read later. Collections are collapsible, so a large space stays scannable; collapse everything you are not using and the dashboard shows just the headings.

Collections hold notes as well as links, so a quick thought or a piece of context can live right next to the pages it refers to.

Tags cut across everything

Collections answer "where does this live", tags answer "what is this about". Harmony gives you color-coded tags with a picker, filter pills to narrow the dashboard to one tag at a time, and a tag management screen where you can rename, recolor, merge, and delete tags as your system evolves. There is also a read-later queue with unread and read filters, so the articles you meant to get back to do not sink to the bottom of a collection.

Drag and drop

Almost everything in Harmony moves by drag and drop:

  • Drag links between collections to refile them.
  • Drag collections between spaces when a topic outgrows its home.
  • Drag spaces to reorder them.

When you are reorganizing, drag and drop is usually the fastest path from mess to order.
